Fall 2016

If you’ve been following us on Instagram or Facebook, you may have noticed that we’ve had some exciting things happen in this first part of 2016, and we can’t wait to see what the remainder of the year brings.

It all started with Elysia Rotaru from the Canadian TV show Arrow wearing our headband. The whole experience was pretty surreal to be honest. Elysia took a photo of herself wearing our headband, shared it on social media, tagged us and then well honestly, we just about passed out.



 
Speaking of TV, we were recently invited to visit CTV Edmonton to do a segment  on how to wear headbands. I got to tell the story of how I gave Taylor Swift a headband and then I did a live demo of “Sides-a-part” (on short hair!), 2 Minute Updo, and Halfway Twist. Even the anchor Rob Williams (@RobWilliamsCTV) got in on the fun, sporting his own spin on “Sides-a-Part”.

We were also very honoured  to be featured in the May/June 2016 issue of Edmonton Woman Magazine. They have a spread that showcases awesome, locally owned businesses and we made the cut on page 29.


 
We also were very fortunate to participate in Beautiful Me - a fun and empowering day of hair, makeup, fashion, and motivational speeches for at risk and vulnerable local teens in and around Edmonton.



The event helps these teens to find their voice and feel beautiful in their skin, a mission that we believe in strongly as well. The event received some great newspaper coverage in the St. Albert Gazette. My dad was so proud he gave out copies to all our family and friends!

We were mentioned in the Edmonton Journal as one of the five artisans to keep an eye out for at the Butterdome Craft Sale in our city, Edmonton AB! 

And last but not least, House of Koopslie headbands were mentioned on the blog, My Closet Journey! She gave a great review of why she loves both our headbands and bum warmers! 

March 2016
